Made Me Smile

Every morning after Ava goes down for her morning nap I have my half hour me time. I get my cup of coffee and sit at my computer. I have several blogs that I like to read and spend more time than I should on Facebook too. I saw this today and it made me smile so I thought I would share with you. I now hear the pile of laundry calling my name and my honey-do list left by my hubby. The half hour goes by way too fast...

Best Buds

Before we had Ava there was our first baby, Sweet Pea. Now Steve will tell you that he doesn't like her and she's a pain but he always talks to her when she walks by her cage and I've even caught them nose to nose laying on the floor by each other. Ava is absolutely thrilled with Sweet Pea. She always crawls over to her cage and "talks" to her. When Sweet Pea is out and about they follow each other around. We've only had one minor incident where Sweet Pea lost a little fur to Ava's fist but other than that they have been best buds since we brought Ava home from the hospital. I think Sweet Pea likes having someone a little more her size around too. Here's a photo timeline for you to enjoy (2 months, 3 months, 5 months, & 9 months)!

Family Photos

We are finally getting some professional photos taken of our little family. Steve did a great job taking pics of Ava at the house during her first week home, and we have taken plenty of pictures of Ava. Trust me the kid thinks the camera is her other sibling! The problem is Steve and I are never in the pictures. I want Ava to be able to look back and see her parents when she was young. After all, every kid needs to be able to laugh at how goofy their parents hair and/or clothes were. The photographer looks amazing. She took pics of a friend of mine and the photos turned out great. She does all natural light photos which I think makes all the difference in the world. Using the flash seems to make people look unnatural. Check out her website at http://www.emilysoutherland.com/ . In the mean time here are a few pictures of Ava that Steve took. I can't believe just how fast they grow!

Take Two

Well, this is my second attempt at blogging. The first time around I tried writing the blog from Ava's point of view, my now 9 month old daughter. Great, very creative idea but so not my style. I was disappointed because I thought blogging would be a great way to remember when Ava had all her firsts but I made it too difficult and I wasn't interested in writing. This time around it's all me and my life experiences with my family. Much more do-able! I don't really know what I will write about but I'm sure nine times out of ten it will involve Ava (who by the way is absolutely a riot!)

As for now, life is good. Hubby is home from his mancation, I mean fishing trip and Ava is sound asleep. Oh and Steve finally cut his hair....hallelujah!!
